WE NEED TO TALK

“We Need To Talk” sounds scary because most of the time when someone in a relationship says we need to talk, there’s a big problem but I believe talking is the key to a strong relationship. Communication is essential. We have to be in constant communication with our spouse, especially if there’s something in our relationship that we’re not happy about it. We shouldn’t hide it and allow it to grow into something bigger and worse. It’s best to tackle it right away and deal with it. If we don’t, resentment builds and it festers and things can get ugly quickly. Paul says in Ephesians 4:26-27: “In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.”

While communication is the key to a strong relationship, number one is having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Building our foundation on Christ allows us to develop healthy relationships in marriage and in life. What does it mean to have a relationship with Christ? It means seeking his advice through His word and constant prayer. It means Christ is in every aspect of my life and because He is, my personal relationships can thrive.

We discussed this topic and more in our latest episode featuring three-time major league baseball All-Star Daniel Murphy.
