WAIT IT OUT

            I’m an impatient person.

I don’t like waiting in lines. I don’t like waiting in traffic. I don’t like waiting on hold. I don’t like waiting out rain delays at baseball games. I know many can relate.

Whenever I set my mind on doing something, I want to get it done and I want to do it right away. I think many of us can be that way with chores, tasks we want to get done around the house, work projects and much more in our daily lives.

But many of us are also impatient in our prayer requests for God. We pray for something and we want it answered right away but sometimes what we want isn’t what God wants for us or sometimes His timing doesn’t match up to ours. We need to wait it out.

Growth occurs during the process. We must remain consistent and constant in prayer and avoid becoming discouraged when God says “no” or “not now.”

2 Peter 3:9 tells us: "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

God isn’t bound by limitations of time like we are. We can’t apply human demands on God’s promises. He made the schedule. He’s never late. God keeps all of His promises when it’s the right time for His glory and for our good.
