Kanye West just released his new album Jesus is King and he’s been holding Sunday services, preaching and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Stop rolling your eyes.
There are so many skeptics out there who want to criticize, and judge and say whatever negative comments come to mind but the truth we don’t know Kanye’s heart and it’s not for us to question his intentions.
He says he’s been changed through a relationship with Christ and I believe it because I lived it. I understand the transformational power of the Holy Spirit because I’ve been changed, too.
Paul says in Romans 12:2: “Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature.”
This is such a challenging verse for me and I pray daily about it.
If we choose the ways of God instead of the ways of the world and we choose to allow the Holy Spirit to shape us instead of the world, we will be transformed instead of being conformed.
Jesus told his apostles in the Gospel of John: "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”
The Holy Spirit, also knows as The Advocate, The Companion, The Comforter, The Counselor, The Helper, The Intercessor, The Strengthener, is alive and Christians should seek to be led by the Spirit and fed by the Spirit.
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to reside within his true followers, his disciples and it’s through the power of the Holy Spirit that transformations occur, if we allow Him to work through us.
We talk about this topic and chat with Philadelphia Eagles running back Jordan Howard in our latest episode.
