Take It

Be strong.  Be courageous.  Don't be afraid.  All of us need this reminder. Joshua certainly needed to hear it after Moses died and God called him to lead the people into the Promised Land.

In Joshua 1:9, God said: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

This is a specific mission for Joshua but we can apply it to our lives.  We can can always be strong and we can always be courageous and be certain that God will be with us whenever we pursue HIS mission, and when we obey HIS word - not our own will _ and remain unwavering in our calling.

God’s message to Joshua is like Jesus’ message to us. God wanted Joshua to go take the Promised Land.

Jesus wants us to take His message wherever we go. He told us in Matthtew 28:19-20: “Go forth and make disciples of all nations.”

In order to do so, we need to be courageous, we need to be strong, we can’t be afraid and we shouldn’t get discouraged. It’s not an easy task but the Lord is with us everywhere we go just as He promised Joshua.

We discussed this topic in our latest episode featuring San Diego Padres pitcher Adam Warren.
