Seal of Approval
We all try to prove the doubters wrong but Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott says in our latest episode that he aims prove the people that believe in him right.
I love that because no matter who we are or what we do, if we are concerned about trying to prove ourselves to other people, we’re going about it all wrong. That’s not lasting. That’s not fulfilling. We can’t be constantly thinking about what people are saying about us because some people will love us, some won’t like us, some will be jealous of us and if we get caught up in that, we are taking our eyes off what’s most important and that’s not what people say about us or how they feel about us, what’s most important is pleasing God.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Galatians 1:10. Paul says: “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
Paul’s priority wasn’t winning friends, being popular, get likes, shares and retweets. His priority was spreading the Good News to as many people as possible and he didn’t care if they weren’t pleased to hear him speak the truth of the Gospels.
