Ride or Die
I was having a rough morning recently after a couple long days covering games and hosting radio shows so I took out my frustrations on a garden hose that gave quite a bit of trouble.
That’s never a good idea.
My wife, Remy, noticed and offered me a hug. But I told her I didn’t have time for it. She insisted. It worked. My anger at that stinkin’ garden hose quickly went away.
Remy is always there when I’m most vulnerable and she’s always there when I need to be held accountable. We have a strong relationship because Christ is at the center. He’s the foundation and we’re always quick to remind each other, encourage each other and comfort each other.
We’re all gonna have rough days and we’re all gonna have ups and downs. It’s important to have the right people surrounding us who speak truth into our lives, sharpen us and make us realize when we’re veering down the wrong path. It’s crucial that our significant other shares our faith, and is also walking with the Lord.
We discuss this topic in our latest episode featuring an interview with Chicago Cubs reliever David Phelps.
