Rachaad White’s Passion for Family and Faith

Rachaad White, a standout running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has made an impact both on and off the field. In his third season, White has accumulated nearly 3,000 yards from scrimmage and 18 touchdowns. His journey to the NFL, however, is as much about his life experiences as it is about his athletic achievements.
Raised by a single mother, White’s upbringing in a community where friends were in and out of foster care shaped his perspective on family and support. He has chosen to use his platform for good, aligning himself with CarePortal for the NFL's My Cause My Cleats campaign. CarePortal connects a network of churches, communities, and individuals to help families in crisis and prevent the need for foster care. White’s choice to champion CarePortal’s mission reflects his deep-rooted values of keeping families together, which stem from his own experiences of growing up in a supportive community.

On the field, White's resilience and leadership are evident. He recalls a memorable overtime moment, where he had the ball in his hands, poised to score and set up a game-winning field goal. "It was a dream come true," White shared, reflecting on his childhood aspiration to be in a clutch moment like that. His perseverance and determination were key as the team moved from a 4-6 start to a tie for the division lead.
White also opened up to Rob Maaddi about his relationship with quarterback Baker Mayfield, who, with his charisma and leadership, motivates the team. "Everybody wants to run through a brick wall for him," White said, highlighting the unity and strength of their bond.
Off the field, White's faith plays an essential role in his life. He openly shares scriptures and inspirational messages on social media, using his platform to inspire others. His commitment to his faith and family reminds him to live each day with purpose, knowing that his life’s path is part of a greater plan.
