Look for the Signs
Have you ever felt unworthy of God’s love? That’s the enemy’s plan.
I love what Paul says in 1 Timothy 13:15-16: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.”
The enemy wants to make us feel so guilty about our past that we think God could never forgive us or accept us but look at Paul. He murdered Christians yet God used him to do mighty work for the Kingdom. That’s a powerful lesson for all of us. No matter how shameful we think our past is, God can forgive us and He can use us, too, just as he did Paul.
See, Paul wasn’t concerned about his image. He wasn’t working on building his brand. He wasn’t trying to grow his followers on social media. Paul was all about being the example. He didn’t shy away from talking about his past. He knew his failures would bring hope to others. Paul let his guard down when he shared the gospel. He spoke openly and honestly. He didn’t talk down to people. He didn’t think he was above them or better than them.
It’s important that people see the same from us when we spread the gospel. They need to know it’s vital in our life so we can show them the transforming power Christ has on us. We should not be afraid to let people know what Christ has done for us and where’s he brought us from.
