Kelvin Beachum Owes A Lot to His Mentors
Throughout his life, God provided people to guide Kelvin during critical moments.

Kelvin Beachum is a 10-year veteran offensive lineman who has excelled on and off the football field. He is going into his third season with the Arizona Cardinals. A two-time Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee Kelvin is a guy who is always involved in giving back to the community.
This week our own Rob Maaddi talked with Kelvin, and we learned about the importance of mentoring and the power of mentoring. There were key people in Kelvin’s life that had an impact on him.
I had my father, my grandfather, you know, they're in high school and still consider them mentors and people. I look up to. In college. I had Pastor Joe Martin and Chris Lowe.
As the Lord moved Beachum from college to the pros, He continued to have people prepared to help provide guidance.
“And as I've gotten to the National Football League, I had Pastors where I went and attended, in Pittsburgh, in Jacksonville and New York, uh, and just friends that are in the faith that has been so important and instrumental, and point into me.”
God gives, but God also takes away. And that was a reality that Kelvin had to face when he lost a mentor.
“I would say the hardest thing is actually losing a mentor, which I lost one of my mentors, uh, pastor Loran Mann there in Pittsburgh last year, which was devastating. Even going to his church two weekends ago while I was in Pittsburgh, it was hard walking into a [00:25:00] church where your mentor feed you for four years.
“So, you know, it's, it's, it's been a great experience to have those types of mentors that point in your life spiritually, that hold you up spiritually, that pray for you spiritually.”
