Kelvin Beachum is in his 10th seasons in the NFL, playing with the Arizona Cardinals. He started 129 games in his career. He works equally hard off the field earning a Walter Payton Man of the Year nomination from the Cardinals. Beachum’s work on the field and off the field definitely requires a tremendous amount of balance.
“It’s a balancing act. I wouldn’t say I have the secret sauce; I have the formula. You try to work at a day in and day out. So is it just you just got to find a way to get it done. It's a balancing act every single day. Tomorrow is Wednesday and the biggest day of the week for us from a practical standpoint. You just find a way to make it happen.”
And when he’s talking about making it happen, Beachum is also referring to his relationship with God, which is believes is the source of the believer’s power.
“You ask how you balance it? You balance it with being connected to the source. The source is God and Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. That's the only way you get it done. That’s the only way you will have the strength to be able to make it day to day.”
Beachum knows he’s been given grace from God, and he believes he should be showing that same grace to others.
“It's grace and mercy that has been (given) to me. So, for me it's one thing to have grace, it’s another thing to be able to give grace. I've been getting a lot of grace and a lot of mercy. So, to be able to serve other people and be able to impact other people in the way that I've been fortunate enough to do so, it starts with faith.”
