Imperfection

I have a confession: I’m not perfect. Neither are you. None of us are. We’re all imperfect people. Only Jesus was perfect.

But here’s the truth about Christianity. We don’t have to be perfect to fit in. Romans 5:8 says: “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

We’re all sinners. We all have struggles. We all have issues. But Jesus still died for us. So when we accept his gift and we confess our faith and accept him as Lord and Savior, we are saved.

We shouldn’t accept our imperfection and refuse to make corrections but the expectation that we are supposed to be perfect because we are Christians is unrealistic and unattainable and no one should think their imperfection excludes them from receiving God’s grace.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 says: “Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous,
no one who does what is right and never sins.”

While we are far from perfect, being Christians means we are supposed to be different, to think different, to act different. That different means to love like Christ loves and forgive like Christ forgives.
