God Changed Myron Rolle's Direction from the NFL to Neurosurgery

And God Has Used Him to Bless Multitudes of People

By Faith on the Field Staff, June 9, 2022

Dr. Myron Rolle is a former NFL player, a neurosurgeon, and was a sixth-round pick by Tennessee in the 2010 draft. He spoke to our own Rob Maaddi about the incredible journey the Lord has taken him on.

After forgoing his senior year to study at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, his draft stock took a hit. It dropped and he was expected to be a first, maybe second-round pick.

But Myron went in the sixth round, and he never played a down in a couple of years in the league, but he fulfilled a childhood dream. He's now living out another one of his childhood dreams as a neurosurgeon.

But his life wasn’t always ideal. As a young man he had to deal with the pressures of being a part of an immigrant family.

“Yeah, I had a lot of challenges as a young person dealing with being an immigrant family, dealing with poverty, dealing with racism, dealing with a temper and an attitude.”

But God had a plan for young Myron, and he eventually gave his life to Christ.

“I knew that the pivot had to happen, and I had to start to become a man, (to) put away childish things and become a man like it talks about it in 1 Corinthians. And so giving my life to Christ. understanding that I had a helper and had someone who's going to cover me, someone who is going to walk with me, and someone who is going to be with me at all times.”

“That gave me the blessed assurance that regardless of what arrows man may throw at me, I'm protected and I'm OK and, I don't have to respond.”
