Flipped

How many of us want salvation without making a change?

We certainly want to ensure our place in Heaven but sometimes we don’t want God to change our bad habits. We don’t want God to change our attitudes. We’re too comfortable with who we are. We’re too set in our ways that we don’t want God to mess with our hearts. Give us salvation, Lord. But don’t you dare interfere with our dreams, our goals, our ambitions, our biases, our addictions.

It doesn’t work that way because sometimes the very things we need to be saved from are the things we don’t want to change about ourselves.  It is NOT enough to accept Christ’s salvation without seeking the change He wants to see within our hearts.

All of us who call ourselves Christians need to continue to examine our hearts and ask Christ to remove any anger, remove any hatred, remove any prejudices, remove any evil that robs us of true peace and fulfillment in Him.

John 3:17 says: For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Jesus came to earth for a purpose. He came to make a difference. He came to bring about change. He came to change us. He came to change the world. And he continues to create change in us if we let Him.
