Duron Harmon Speaks About Rededicating His Life to Christ

God convicted Duron of his complacency and used it to spark personal revival.

By Faith on the Field Staff, June 16, 2022

Duron Harmon was a third-round pick in the NFL Draft by New England in 2013. He won three Super Bowls with the Patriots. He joined the Lions in 2020, played for the Falcons last year, and signed with the Raiders this year. This week he spoke to our own Rob Maaddi.

Duron is all in on the field, but there came a point in Duron’s life where he had to decide if he was all in for Christ. His faith roots started as a young man growing up in church.

“I grew up in the church. I was raised in the church all of my life. But I knew the Lord, I knew what he meant. I knew what he meant for my family. I knew how much he blessed me.”

This knowledge of the Lord was helpful, but it did not take root in Duron’s heart. Over time he began to wander from the Lord.

“Over time as you get older, you kind of remove it, not remove yourself, but life takes You away and. Yeah, honestly, I had to go through some tough things for me to really realize who Jesus and who God is.”

“I had to go through some dark times where nobody, not my mom, not my dad, not my wife, nobody could get me out of here except him (God). And I just was tired of living a life of looking for approval. Because the only person, or the only being who needs to approve me, is my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Recently, the Lord used a conference in Duron’s and his wife’s life to direct them toward the Lord.

“I went to a conference in February, me and my wife. We dedicated our lives back to Christ. Because it was just, I'm tired of living one foot in, what foot out. It's time for me to like either be all in or all out, you know. And it was just at that point in my life, me and my wife made a decision, we're gonna go all in on this because not only is it good for our souls and our relationship with the Lord, but we also talking about that legacy for our children.”
