Bryan Cox Jr. is an American football defensive end who is a free agent. Bryan played college football at Florida. The Lord has had Bryan be a part of several different teams in his NFL journey. There have been some great lessons he’s taken from that path.
“The main thing I take from that is, you can't take any day for granted because when you're in it, I feel like the players can get kind of complacent, I guess. It's kind of routine or you one day by day and you don't realize how you know fortunate and blessed You really ought to be in that position.”
Cox had to endure a painful rehab because of an Achilles tendon injury. For many players that is a career-shifting injury. Cox had to take it one step at a time and process the injury in the right way.
“There's a million things that go through your mind when something like that happens. I mean, that's one of the injuries that they used to call ‘The Death Sentence’, maybe 3-5 years ago. But now, with the medicine and the new technology that got, you come back from it pretty quickly. I feel like it just gave me a year to kind of reset myself as a man, you know, kind of figure out a little bit about myself.”
For Bryan, his faith is the most important part of his life. In his words, it is his “Everything.”
“I would not be here without him. Even when I first tore my Achilles on the field, I said to myself, “God, I know you didn't bring me this far to leave me here.” So the entire time I had 100% confidence that I was going to be back and I know the reason why I'm back.”
