BRICK BY BRICK

            Nobody wants to build a house on sand because it won’t withstand a storm. When rain comes, it’ll fall apart and crumble. It needs a strong, firm foundation to survive any and all weather conditions.

            All of us are going to face storms in our lives. We need a strong foundation to prevent us from crumbling. Building our lives on the foundation of Christ gives us security knowing that no matter how powerful the storm, how difficult the trials, how tough the circumstances, we will not crumble when we face adversity, we will stand strong and we will survive the storm.

            We can make sure our foundation is secure to help us in these moments when we face trials by studying the Word, by putting it into practice in our daily lives, by trusting in the Lord and placing our identity in Him instead of in ourselves or in others or in our accomplishments.

            This takes hard work but we can do it one brick at a time. We can’t build a house in one day but when Christ is central in our lives, our foundation is rock-solid and we can withstand anything that comes our way.
