Andy Holloway Chose as a Teen to Follow Christ

His Christian home helped him, but he had to make a personal decision for Jesus.

By Faith on the Field Staff, September 18, 2023

Andy Holloway is a Cohost of the Fantasy Footballers (www.thefantasyfootballers.com) along with Jason Moore and Mike Wright. It is the number one most listened-to Fantasy Football podcast and the number one sports podcast on Spotify and Apple.

Though he has one of the highest-rated podcasts, Andy is a humble guy from a humble background. He spoke with Rob Maaddi about how he put his faith in Jesus Christ to save him.

“Yeah, I think the best way I would describe it is that I was raised in the kind of prototypical Christian home environment, middle class. It was a part of our routine. But as a young child, there's a difference between that and the gospel and the Bible, meaning, truth, and reality beyond Sunday morning.”

Holloway was like a lot of kids who grew up in Christian homes, where mom and dad laid a Christian foundation, and tried to shepherd their kids away from evil.

“I feel like I was very much insulated from a lot of negative influence growing up, which was a blessing. Like it was, you know, God's provision and protecting me in a lot of ways when my faith wasn't necessarily real. So I thank God a lot for that naivety I had as a young man and the friends that I had in the environment that I was raised in.”

The Holy Spirit turned the lights on for Andy late into his teen years, when he began to realize for himself the reality of who Jesus is.

“It wasn't till I was about 17 and got involved in a high school ministry where I had some friends that just kind of exposed me to God's Word and in a real way, like I read it for the first time in a in a lot of ways. And so, I think that's when I was really convicted of my own sin and life.

And you know, when true repentance and faith in Christ happened, it's probably around 17-18 when I wanted to pursue the Bible in a real way and understand what it said.”
