Our guest this week Amon-Ra St. Brown is a Pro Bowl wide receiver with the Detroit Lions. He's entering his third season in the NFL. He's a guy with a ton of talent and an incredible work ethic who has set several Lions records even in his young NFL career. He’s hoping the Lions will come out strong this season, which will depend largely on their work ethic.
“I think for us as a team, it's just going out there and we got to put that working everyday, starts in training camp. I shoot, I'll say starting OTA back in OTA's and now in training camp and then going out, moving forward to our first game against Kansas City.”
The Lions were a scoring machine last year, and this year added to their arsenal with additional running backs. But St. Brown thinks this offense still has room to grow and things to prove.
“I think this offense could be better. We had a pretty good offense last year, but we added some pieces, we lost some pieces. But we added some different pieces, our office drafted some young guys. So, I'm excited to see what we do.”
St. Brown came into the NFL out of the 4th round without high expectations. But he then had a record-setting rookie year, making the Pro Bowl last year. Rob Maaddi asked him what his goals were going into year 3.
"Yeah, I have some personal goals, but I don't really like to share those (with) other people until the end of the season. Because people like to write things and say things. So I keep those to myself until, you know, till the end of the year.”
